Don't take this seriously. lol I just thought it was funny.

I was pulling weeds in my yard, which got me to thinking about politics (I blame Dr. Eades), and I realized that there would be a very sensible way to decrease 'stupid' crimes and aid the economy, and it focuses around a very loose form of euthenasia.

What my mind proposed is that drugs should be legalized, and managed in such a way to make a federal monopoly of it. Set up some way to make it readily available (internet?) and ship/ sell it with protection. The government, unlike individuals, would be capable of expending money to make a pure product without any cheap add-in materials (which is a large source of death in drugs like LsD). It would also make it available at a set price much lower than what drug dealers drive their product up to. Besides funding the employees that would be in sales (if there would be any) the income would be routed into economic programs by the government. There could also be an increasing tax as it becomes more of a monopolized good.

This would take money from drug dealers and put it directly into the economy. Legalizing it would maybe lead to increased death, but even this is unlike to be the case, as the drug would be pure and not have any harmful filler. Plus, the euthinasia comes into play. If all the current drug-taking members of society continue to become consumers, the probability of death would increase, and there would be a slow purge of bad people.

Of course this could all backfire and produce a nation full of government-dependent, constantly high drones, but I think it's interesting for something thought of in the yard.

And no I'm not crazy, nobody would accept this, and I'm overly cynical. Yay. XP
